OmniShield Hydrophobic Barrier Pen

OmniShield

HYDROPHOBIC BARRIER PEN
NON CARCINOGENIC ● NON MUTAGENIC ● ECO FRIENDLY

OmniShield hydrophobic barrier pens are used to draw thin film-like barriers around samples on positively charged glass microscope slides. These barriers can be drawn in any pattern to create sample wells to contain or to localize reagents over specimens. Reagent localisation precludes the need to wipe down the microscope slide between steps, minimizes reagent wastage and reduces the risk of touching the sample when wiping down the slide. Additionally the barriers help prevent reagent mixing when multiple samples are mounted on the same microscope slide.

OmniShield barriers are hydrophobic and oleophobic and retain their omniphobic properties in the presence of reagents like methanol, ethanol and surfactants such as Triton X-100, Triton X-114 and Tween20. Barrier pens are available with clear and coloured ink options that are compatible with brightfield and fluorescence appplications. If desired, the barriers can be removed with solvents such as xylene or acetone.

OmniShield hydrophonic barrier pens are designed to be safer more sustainable alternives to existing PAP pens and hydrophobic barrier pens. Our ink formulations contain non HAP, non SARA solvents, pose low bioaccumalation risk and do not contain substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic or toxic to aquatic life.

OmniShield hydrophonic barrier pens are available in different colours to enable colour coding by control, antobody, treatement or as per your experiment's needs. Also available in different tip sizes for different barrier widths to process single or multiple specimens on a single slide.

OmniShield hydrophonic barrier pens are available in different fill volumes to suit different laboratory throughputs and see through barrels to help gauge remaining volume and plan ahead accordingly.
